A blue and white guest room design brought to life, from a 3D mockup to the real space. I created a 3D room mockup as a starting point for my coastal guest bedroom, using a mix of blue and white, navy, natural coastal textures, and classic coastal details. Seeing the room come together visually made it easier to start making real decisions, and I’ve slowly started bringing it to life in my home.
Same bed, two different moods: these coastal bedroom furniture ideas are full of timeless textures and natural details. Table of Contents: Styling Coastal Bedroom Furniture If you’ve ever fallen in love with a piece of coastal bedroom furniture but weren’t sure how to style it, this post is for you. I’m sharing two different coastal bedroom ideas using the same white wood and cane bed, which is one of my recent favorite modern coastal pieces for its clean lines, subtle texture, and versatility. Both looks are light, relaxed, and full of natural materials, but they each have their own vibe. One brings in more warmth and texture with a fun blue and white wallpaper, seagrass nightstands, and pale blue tones. The other leans crisp and classic with all white furniture (though it’s not a matching set) and deep navy accents. These collages are perfect for anyone decorating a coastal home or giving their beach house guest bedroom a more elevated, modern update. Ready to see how the same coastal bed can work two different ways? Take a look at the two coastal bedroom collages below and see which style fits your space best. Coastal Bedroom Ideas: Soft Blue & Natural Bed // Nightstands // Table Lamps // Beach Wall Art – see similar art here // Wallpaper // Light Blue Pillow Shams // Patterned Pillow Cover // Blue & White Area Rug and another Similar Area Rug // Woven Basket // Coral + Similar Coral // Clam Shell (similar) Please note: Items are shown for inspiration only and may not be to scale. Related: Blue and White Coastal Table Lamps to Brighten Your Home Coastal bedrooms can feel relaxing and beautiful with just a few natural textures and thoughtful details. These two looks show how much flexibility you can get from the same core piece of coastal bedroom furniture, especially when you mix in coastal materials, fresh lighting, and art that reflects your personal style. If you’re planning a bedroom refresh or guest room upgrade, save these ideas as inspiration and don’t be afraid to combine high and low pieces, mix different wood tones or textures, and play with color in subtle ways. When you’re decorating a modern coastal home or a laid-back beach house, thoughtful layering and a few standout pieces can create a cohesive and calming coastal bedroom retreat.

Affordable light wood dressers that capture the coastal look of a high-end designer piece. There’s a certain light wood dresser that’s become a bit of an icon in the coastal home decor world. You’ve probably seen it in magazine-worthy bedrooms, styled beautifully with ceramic lamps, picture frames, and a casual strand of beads draped over the top. It has that perfect weathered wood finish… something between driftwood and sun-faded oak… and it’s just modern enough to feel fresh while still being timeless. It’s also over $2,000. If you’ve had your eye on this piece (or something like it), I totally get it. It’s stunning. But the price tag? Not exactly budget-friendly. The good news? If it’s not in your budget, you can absolutely get the same breezy, high-end coastal look for less. I rounded up a handful of beautiful budget-friendly dressers that capture that same relaxed, weathered light wood vibe without the designer price. There’s even some that are currently under $500. This coastal dresser look has become so popular that some people are even trying to DIY it when they can’t afford the designer version, sanding down old dressers and experimenting with whitewashed or driftwood-inspired stains to get that signature sun-faded finish. If you’re handy, that’s always an option, but if you’d rather skip the mess and get the look without the work, I’ve got you covered. You’ll find the collage below with links underneath for easy shopping. This dresser looks great with a variety of interior styles, from beach houses and modern coastal cottages to relaxed farmhouse bedrooms and transitional neutral rooms. Its light, weathered wood finish looks amazing in bedrooms with light and airy color palettes and laid-back styling. Some of these dressers have sold out and then come back in stock, so don’t be surprised if that happens again. Scroll down to see all of the options, and don’t forget to save or pin the collage for inspiration! Coastal Dressers: Designer Looks for Less Dresser 1 // Dresser 2 // Dresser 3 // Dresser 4 // Dresser 5 // Dresser 6 These dressers are perfect for a modern coastal home, whether you’re decorating your primary bedroom, refreshing a guest room, or in need of a stylish piece of bedroom furniture that doesn’t match too perfectly with your other pieces. That’s one of the things I love most about this style. The light wood finish feels natural and casual, like something you’d find in a beach cottage or a laid-back boutique hotel by the ocean. It adds warmth and texture to a bedroom without competing with other decor. Related: The Ultimate Guide to Coastal Nightstands This look also works nicely with a range of bedroom styles. It can be styled classic coastal with white and light blues, mixed in with modern accents like black hardware and clean-lined mirrors, or complement a minimal vibe with neutrals and simple decor. It works well with seagrass rugs, linen drapes, and woven baskets. Honestly, it’s one of those pieces of furniture that just works no matter what direction you take your bedroom. I kept all of the look for less dressers in the roundup under the original designer price point, and most of them are far below it (as of the time of original posting). If you’re looking to get the high-end look without the high-end budget, these are great dresser options. And if you’re new to coastal decorating, this is one of those foundation pieces that can help define the style of a bedroom. Pair it with a simple table lamp, a framed coastal or beach print, and a few personal touches for your room to feel instantly pulled together and effortlessly coastal. Driftwood-Style Dressers: 6 designer look for less finds If you’re looking to refresh an existing bedroom or furnishing a new bedroom from scratch, these dressers prove that you don’t have to pay a designer price to get the coastal style you love. The right dresser can instantly elevate your bedroom and bring a relaxed, coastal feel into your home, at any price point. Which of these beachy coastal dressers is your favorite?
Whether you’re looking for coastal nightstands for your primary bedroom, a guest room, or a child’s bedroom, this list includes styles that blend effortlessly into a coastal home or beach house. Table of Contents If you’re on the hunt for the perfect nightstand to complete your bedroom setup, you’ll love scrolling through this roundup of beautiful coastal and beach house nightstands. This list contains a range of coastal nightstand styles and options, including coastal nightstands that will work if you have a higher budget or a lower budget. Interestingly, nightstands meant for bedrooms, and side tables meant for living rooms, have become interchangeable in many cases. So if you see something in this list that would look great next to your couch, you don’t need to be concerned that it’s labeled as a nightstand. If you want more guidance before choosing a nightstand, keep scrolling after the list. Below the roundup, I break down what makes a nightstand feel coastal, what to keep in mind while shopping, and a quick guide to help you pick the right coastal nightstand style for your space. Coastal Nightstands to Complete Your Bedroom Below you’ll find many beautiful options of coastal nightstands for your bedroom, categorized by color, starting with white and mostly white; then natural wood, woven, and raffia; followed by blue, turquoise, and aqua; and ending with navy nightstands. There are nightstands for all styles and budgets, whether you’re looking for something minimalist or statement-making. White Nightstands If you’re enjoying these coastal nightstands, check out: Easily Refresh and Elevate Your Space With These Neutral Coastal Throw Pillows and Throw Pillow Covers Natural Wood, Woven, and Raffia Nightstands Blue, Turquoise, Sea Green, and Aqua Nightstands If you’re in need of coastal artwork for your home, check out: Ocean-Inspired Coastal Wall Art You’ll Love Navy Nightstands This list will be updated with more coastal and beach house nightstand options as availability changes. What’s a coastal nightstand? What makes a nightstand a “coastal nightstand”? I look for a coastal nightstand to have these qualities: first, the colors need to fit the coastal look and feel, so anything that has natural coastal and beach colors, like neutral shades of beach sand, blue and turquoise colors of the ocean, pale greens of dune grass, and whites reminiscent of whitecaps and clouds. Second, I look for materials and textures that fit with the coastal look and feel, so anything that’s a natural wood shade that resembles driftwood, anything containing natural textures like rattan, wicker, seagrass, and grasscloth, as well as light wood that fits the colors and tones you’d see in sand at the beach. Lastly, I look for a design and style that fit the coastal look and feel, so it should be simple and unfussy, with clean lines, and be understated yet sophisticated. This style is a mix of traditional and modern coastal, and can also be considered a transitional design style. What to keep in mind when choosing a coastal nightstand When choosing a nightstand, you’ll want to keep in mind not only the style of the nightstand, but the function as well. Think about what you want your nightstand to do for you. Do you want your nightstand to be wide enough to hold a table lamp, your phone, a glass of water, a picture frame? You’ll want to make sure the measurements work for everything you want to fit on it. Are you looking for any other functions, like a nightstand charging station? Some nightstands have power strips hidden away in drawers or on the back side so you can charge your electronics in a convenient way while reducing visual clutter by not having cords on the ground. What about storage? Do you have a need for drawers in your nightstand so you can store clothing, jewelry, or other items like books, chargers, tissues, remotes, etc., or are you using it primarily for decorating purposes, where open shelving would serve you better as a place to display coffee table books and other decor? Knowing what function you want out of a nightstand will help you select a design that you’ll be happy with for many years to come. Shopping for coastal nightstands: what you need to know Should both nightstands match? It comes down to personal preference. I happen to be a fan of both sides of the bed having matching nightstands, which is a more traditional look, but if you’re interested in a more boho, less matchy-matchy look, I recommend choosing two nightstands that are the same color, but different styles. That way they’ll still look cohesive despite having a different design. However, if you like the look of having a completely different color and style of nightstands, that’s fine, too! Should nightstands match the rest of your bedroom furniture? Having a matching bedroom set is an outdated design trend that you no longer should feel the need to follow. If you like the look of a matching bedroom set, go for it! It’s your bedroom and your space should make you happy. But your bedroom furniture definitely doesn’t have to be a matching set; in fact, it can be more visually appealing to mix different pieces of furniture that you love. How do you mix furniture and still have it look cohesive? If you don’t want a matching bedroom furniture set but still want your furniture to look cohesive, one option is to stick with the same color. For example, you can have a white dresser from one retailer, white nightstands from another retailer, and a white headboard and bed frame from a third retailer. A fabric headboard can also work here. Another option is to choose different pieces of furniture that are all part of the same design style in order to feel cohesive. For example, if you’re decorating in a coastal style, you could have a white dresser, light blue nightstands, and a driftwood-colored headboard and bed frame. How tall should your nightstand be? Generally, you’ll want your nightstands to […]
