From snacks to staples, stock your kitchen with these gluten free items. Eating gluten free can often feel challenging, especially when those without dietary restrictions have far more options than we do. But if you’re lucky enough to live near a Trader Joe’s grocery store, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how many gluten free items they offer, with new items showing up all the time. I’ve tried nearly every gluten free food item that Trader Joe’s offers, and I’ve discovered some go-to items that I reach for consistently. In this list, I’ll share all of my favorite gluten free foods from Trader Joe’s in the hopes that you’ll find something new and exciting to add to your grocery list. The items shared below are broken into the following categories: gluten free bread & buns, gluten free crackers, gluten free breakfast foods, gluten free pasta, gluten free frozen food, gluten free snacks, gluten free cookies, donuts, & chocolate, gluten free soup & sauce, and naturally gluten free foods at Trader Joe’s. There are so many great gluten free foods at Trader Joe’s that I decided to make this list specifically about items you can find year-round, as Trader Joe’s also has many seasonal items that are available for short amounts of time, which I’ll cover in a separate post in the future. If you’re not familiar with Trader Joe’s, it’s a national grocery store in the U.S. that sells food and other household products, most of which are sold under their own label. They’re known for quality, affordability, and for having friendly employees. Something to keep in mind is that some of the gluten-free options at Trader Joe’s may not be certified gluten-free and could be processed on shared equipment with gluten-containing ingredients, posing a risk of cross-contamination. Be sure to read the labels of each product carefully to make the best choice for your dietary needs, whether you have celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity (NCGS), gluten intolerance, or are following a gluten free diet. I have non-celiac gluten intolerance and have never had an issue with eating the gluten free foods at Trader Joe’s, but everyone’s body is different. Talk with your doctor if you’re unsure about which foods, ingredients, and levels of cross-contamination are safe for your specific health concerns. Finding the right gluten-free groceries can make a big difference in how you enjoy your meals. Below are some of my favorite gluten free foods at Trader Joe’s that are available year-round! Table of Contents: Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Bread & Buns Trader Joe’s has a wide selection of gluten free bread and bun options. Gluten Free Whole Grain Bread Trader Joe’s has many sandwich breads, and I purchase all of them regularly to give myself a variety, although if I had to choose just one, this is what I would pick. I tend to stock up on multiple loafs of bread and freeze them so I always have bread on hand that just needs to be quickly toasted to defrost it.They also sell white sandwich bread, multigrain bread, and cinnamon raisin bread.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Gluten Free Hamburger Buns These are my favorite gluten free hamburger buns out of every option I’ve tried from other stores. Although gluten free buns tend to be more dense than wheat buns, these are softer and fluffier than any other brands I’ve tried.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Gluten Free Almond Flour Tortillas I’m so happy I found these for making sandwich wraps and quesadillas.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Crackers There’s something for everyone with the variety of gluten free crackers at Trader Joe’s. Savory Squares Crackers These gluten free crackers are my latest discovery and current snack obsession. They taste like Cheez-Its but are vegan, so they’re dairy free. I always eat them straight from the box, but I also want to try them with a dip, and to crush some up to use as a breading for fish or chicken.Where to find it: In the cracker section. Original Savory Thin Mini Crackers These gluten free crackers are great for snacking on their own, or with a dip like hummus.Where to find it: In the cracker section. Organic Brown Rice Cake Thins I love having these in my pantry for topping with peanut butter and jelly, or sandwich meat, cheese, and mustard.Where to find it: In the cracker section. Trader Joe’s Gluten Free Breakfast Foods Don’t miss these gluten free breakfast items that can expand your morning food options in new ways. Trader Joe’s has numerous gluten free muffins, and they’re all good, with these being my favorite flavor.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Gluten Free Almost Everything Bagels I always have these gluten free bagels in my freezer, which makes for a great breakfast with cream cheese, or an egg and cheese on a bagel. They also sell plain gluten free bagels.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Gluten Free English Muffins These are amazing. I was torn on whether to put them in the breakfast category or the bread & buns category, because I use them as buns for burgers and sandwiches just as often as I use them for breakfast. I keep them in my freezer and toast one when I’m ready to eat it.Where to find it: In the bread section there is a designated gluten free shelf. Gluten Free Rolled Oats I use these rolled oats for making overnight oats, oatmeal cookies, and adding them to smoothies. Where to find it: In the section with shelf-stable breakfast foods.
These gluten free lunches for work are quick and easy to put together. When you’re newly diagnosed with gluten sensitivity, gluten intolerance, or celiac disease, it can be difficult to think of easy lunches that you can bring to work. Even if you’ve been eating gluten free for a while, these new ideas will help to keep your lunches interesting. Whether prepped the night before or thrown together in a morning rush, packing gluten free lunches from home means you know every ingredient that you’re putting into your body. From classic sandwiches to inventive salads, or leftovers transformed into something new, the options are endless. There are numerous benefits to bringing your own lunch to work, especially when you have dietary restrictions. Bringing lunch from home allows for control over your ingredients, which promotes safer and healthier eating for anyone who is gluten free. Packing your own lunch offers you greater variety and customization than purchasing lunch out, where there can be limited options or questionable ingredients. Additionally, bringing your own lunch to work can be more cost-effective than purchasing lunch, which can save you a lot of money in the long run. One of the challenges of coming up with gluten free lunch ideas for work is finding options that you’re willing or able to make. When searching for gluten free lunch recipes online, it can feel frustrating when many require a lot of prep time, unusual ingredients or just take too long. That’s why I’ve compiled this list of easy gluten free lunch ideas that are quick to put together, have basic gluten free ingredients, and are easy to bring with you to work. Even if you haven’t gone grocery shopping recently, you can probably pull together at least one of these gluten free lunch options with what you already have at home. These gluten free lunch ideas for work are perfect for those who are short on time, don’t like to cook, or are unmotivated to make complex recipes. Some of these are “grab-and-go” gluten free lunch ideas that require no cooking, for those mornings when you haven’t planned ahead. Even though grab-and-go lunches aren’t always the most exciting, they can be a better option than risking your health by purchasing a lunch that you can’t be sure is gluten free, or feeling hungry at work because you’re afraid to purchase something that might contain gluten. If you have a microwave at work, you can easily heat up meals that are best served hot. If you don’t have access to a microwave, there are still plenty of gluten free lunch ideas for work that don’t require a microwave, or you can heat up your food at home in the morning and put it in a thermos to keep warm until you’re ready to eat it. Be sure to check that all of the ingredients you use are gluten free. Many of the ingredients listed below are sold in versions with and without gluten, so you want to make sure you use a gluten free option. If you’re new to being gluten free, remember that for the most part you can find many ingredients in a gluten free version, or something similar to substitute.
